Niagara-on-the-Lake is such a cute town. It was quite the happening place as well! The little streets were bustling with people! Loved the charming restaurants and cafes with their airy patios and verandas. I think I should spend retirement here =P

shredding the past

true to tradition, i procrastinated instead of studying for my exam which is in 3 days. i emptied out two boxes found in my closet full of random stuff all the way from elementary school. it was interesting digging through all my old stuff...omg i'm such a pack rat >.< i found old cards and cutie drawings from friends. amongst the mess i found my old journal, gifted to me by my 3rd grade teacher. i believe there were entries dating from 1995 to 2001-ish. my goodness even though i know its written by my younger self, it was awkward. almost 8 years later from the last entry, even now reading those entries brings back the emotions, feelings felt when i first wrote them...so many memories...both good ones and bad ones. i know that journal/ diaries are supposed to be precious and people say to hold on to them, but when mine resurfaced this weekend, browsing through some of the entries, reliving the hurt and such, well i felt it was time to get rid of it. i know, maybe someday i might regret throwing away my memories. but right now, it feels the best thing to do is to forget because this journal is a reminder...and i don't ever want to be reminded again. so i went down to my basement with my journal in hand... and shred my past.
